Our outdoor, hands-on nature camps foster a lasting curiosity and lifelong love for the outdoors.
All of our camps are run by our professional Naturalists and are kept to a 1:15 staff to camper ratio or less.
Please Note: Our minimum age for camps is 7 years old, and payment is required with registration to guarantee a spot.

Spring Conservation Camp
Date: April 14-18, 2025
Time: 9:00 - 3:00 PM
Ages: 7-13
Description: Join our Spring Conservation Camp and have your kids explore the science of the spring time. For budding young conservationists, outdoor kids, nature lovers, etc. Epic adventures in Westmoreland’s pristine woodland environment. Campers will hike near and far and conduct water testing, turtle surveys, measure tree growth, remove invasive plants, band and release wild birds, conduct game camera studies, and more. Sign up for a fun-filled experience featuring survival shelter building, outdoor games, and a variety of self-directed activities.Dress for the weather.

Description: Construct shelters, fires, and more at Westmoreland Sanctuary’s Habitats, Homes, and Haunts Summer Camp! The perfect camp for those who love to build in the outdoors using materials found in nature. This camp is all about learning how to safely build structures and tools in nature that can help protect against the elements and working with other campers to accomplish incredible goals.

Ecological Arts Camp

Description: Inspire a deeper connection to nature through art! Kids will be led on ecological hikes through the preserve, learning about the flora and fauna that call Westmoreland home. This will be followed by the creation of herbarium plant pressings, tree ID journals, sun prints, hand-made invasive species paper, and other mixed media art!

Understanding Nature
Date: August 11th-15th

Description: Encourage the development of respect for individual organisms and entire ecosystems through immersion in nature. Kids will explore the 7 habitat islands within Westmoreland Sanctuary’s 690 acres of land, discovering and identifying diverse populations of flora and fauna. They will be taught how to utilize natural material for shelter, basketry, cordage, paper, and topical salve, while participating in sustainable harvesting practices.

Westmoreland Sanctuary provides refunds only if the Sanctuary cancels a program or event for any reason. Refunds are not issued for personal reasons related to individuals, families, or groups. If a participant is unable to attend, payment may be reallocated as a donation or applied to another program.
