We offer internships in environmental conservation and environmental education for high school seniors for the last 4-6 weeks of the school year.
Application Process: Please submit a resume to [email protected].
Westmoreland possesses 6 conservation islands — habitats of special interest on which we focus our habitat restoration efforts. Within these conservation islands, interns will conduct invasive species removal, reintroduce native species, install deer fencing, and measure water quality where applicable.
Westmoreland provides programs for nature lovers of all ages. Interns will learn how to engage the public in conservation through our outdoor environmental education curricula. Westmoreland cares for 26 teaching animals that are used in that curricula. Interns will be taught about the animals and care for them during their time with us.
Interns will also develop skills needed to succeed in any workplace such as working independently and in a team, public speaking and science writing.
